When MIT Craiova's Grigore Rizescu in the 3rd minute got a chance for a shot 3rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Scotland's goalie prevented a goal. Alexander Higgins made a fantastic save in the 4th minute, when Marcu Voitiş sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Marcu Voitiş managed to get in a good position for a shot. MIT Craiova's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcu Voitiş was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alexander Higgins breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A hard shot 9 in the game by Marcu Voitiş from a close distance when the talented Alexander Higgins managed to make a qualified save. Scotland's players were relieved. Marcel Pătrășconiu's late challenge caught a Scotland's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Scotland reached it. Marcel Pătrășconiu was shown his second yellow card after 28 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. A collision led to MIT Craiova getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Marcel Pătrășconiu hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fletcher Main in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mihai Cismaș saved MIT Craiova from getting behind. Marcu Voitiş received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Alexander Higgins tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 35th match minute, Scotland was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ashton Nelson to maneuver through the defense. Marcu Voitiş blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alexander Higgins having to make a save. Scotland's Alexander Higgins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Grigore Rizescu in the 41st minute of play. After 42 minutes, Ashton Nelson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Scotland and the MIT Craiova players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of MIT Craiova booed when Scotland was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ashton Nelson didn't get a good kick on the ball. 44 minutes into the match, Marcu Voitiş dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Alexander Higgins, 1-0. 47 minutes into the match, Grigore Rizescu dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Alexander Higgins, 2-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Zac O'Donnell was the one to do the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sergiu Taşcă during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 56th minute, Sergiu Taşcă hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jaxson Russell hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. In the 60th minute Grigore Rizescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alexander Higgins saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The MIT Craiova fans' excitement grew in the 62nd match minute when MIT Craiova's Marcu Voitiş looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Marcu Voitiş sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zac O'Donnell charged in rather forcefully in the 73rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Zac O'Donnell the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Zac O'Donnell hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marcu Voitiş in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alexander Higgins saved Scotland from getting behind. In the 79th minute, Grigore Rizescu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The MIT Craiova fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. After 82 played minutes MIT Craiova got a freekick which was hit by Cristian Moisil. Alexander Higgins made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcu Voitiş in the 89th minute of play. Robert McNeill's late challenge caught a MIT Craiova's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Robert McNeill helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Scotland's Robert McNeill got a free kick in the 90th minute. The audience was convinced that Marcu Voitiş's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alexander Higgins was relentless in the 93rd minute of the game. Cristian Moisil fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexander Higgins having to interfere.
