Alexander Higgins came out of the goal and Heli Izaguirre tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the Scotland defense, Asdrubal Prieto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alexander Higgins. The Scotland fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alexander Higgins should have stopped the shot. After 22 played minutes Scotland got a freekick which was hit by Ashton Nelson. In the 23rd minute, Xaime Diez ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alexander Higgins was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. When the match clock showed 27 minutes, the score became 5-0 when Asdrubal Prieto sped through Scotland's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Alexander Higgins. In the 29th minute, Scotland's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Xaime Diez fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 8-0 at half-time.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Zac O'Donnell to strike the kick off in the second half. Atlético de Sagunto's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Asdrubal Prieto in the 52nd minute. Alexander Higgins showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Asdrubal Prieto, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. When Heli Izaguirre came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Atlético de Sagunto fans jumped to their feet.
