Pepe Sand blasted a shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cecilio Jax having to make a save. San Martin de Tucuman's Cecilio Jax proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 4th minute of the match, managed to save San Martin de Tucuman from getting a goal against them. Lautaro Morales didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Justino Confesor went, in the 8th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Paulino Lamberto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 12 minutes into the match, Pucará's goal looked a bit too open when Justino Confesor came free, but Lautaro Morales reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Justino Confesor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Lautaro Morales tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 15thth minute of the game Justino Confesor who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Pucará's Lautaro Morales was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 19 played minutes Pucará got a freekick which was hit by Pepe Sand. After having played for 26 minutes, Justino Confesor managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. San Martin de Tucuman's supporters crossed their fingers, but Justino Confesor was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Paulino Lamberto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lautaro Morales took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulino Lamberto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 33 minutes into the match, Pucará's goal looked a bit too open when Justino Confesor came free, but Lautaro Morales reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The corner led San Martin de Tucuman's Paulino Lamberto to fire away a dangerous shot which Lautaro Morales despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Pepe Sand blasted a shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cecilio Jax having to make a save. With a little luck, San Martin de Tucuman's Cecilio Jax got control of the ball when Pepe Sand tried to sneak it across the goal line. Lautaro Morales came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by San Martin de Tucuman's Justino Confesor. But to his dismay, Justino Confesor quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Lautaro Morales took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Justino Confesor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pepe Sand stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 54th play minutes Justino Confesor shot 1-3, a short shot which went by Lautaro Morales and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 59th minute the ball was on its way in behind San Martin de Tucuman's goalkeeper Cecilio Jax, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. San Martin de Tucuman made a substitution. Luciano Selmo replaced Petr Schejbal. With his leg Lautaro Morales managed to avoid a goal in the 74thth minute, when San Martin de Tucuman's Sergio Vitin fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Pucará made a substitution. Faustino Sayveon replaced Ariel Rafe. San Martin de Tucuman's Severino Elorri was substituted for Paulo Gilen. Pucará's Dario Artizar was substituted for Pepe Sand. Pucará's Benedicto Caitano was substituted for Ezequiel Muñoz. Cecilio Jax showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dario Artizar, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sergio Vitin got free with Lautaro Morales in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 83 minutes into the match, Pucará's goalkeeper Lautaro Morales had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sergio Vitin. 88 minutes into the match, Sergio Vitin dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Lautaro Morales, 2-5. 90 minutes into the match, San Martin de Tucuman's Sergio Vitin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lautaro Morales narrowly saved just below the crossbar. San Martin de Tucuman were awarded a corner in the 91th minute after Pucará's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Paulino Lamberto took the corner. San Martin de Tucuman's Paulino Lamberto was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Lautaro Morales in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in.
