Goiás Esporte Clube's Gilberto Dracena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Borjan Golubovic in the 20th minute of play. In the 21st match minute, Goiás Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eusébio Cosme to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Serbia getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Borjan Golubovic hit a great ball. If Iuri de Andrade had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Goiás Esporte Clube fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 26th minute. Penalty! Goiás Esporte Clube:s Gilberto Dracena showed great skill when he stopped Sreten Popovic:s penalty. 42 minutes into the game, Iuri de Andrade recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Zvezdan Nedeljkovic. Iuri de Andrade showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sreten Popovic made a kick off. Goiás Esporte Clube's Gilberto Dracena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Borjan Golubovic in the 57th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Borjan Golubovic got free with Gilberto Dracena in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gilberto Dracena was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Sreten Popovic showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 68 minute of play. Eugênio Tróia kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. In the 77th minute of the game Eusébio Cosme made a throw-in which Celsinho Macedo played forward. When Sreten Popovic came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Serbia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sreten Popovic couldn't finish the play. Celsinho Macedo hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Sreten Popovic received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Gilberto Dracena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Serbia booed when Goiás Esporte Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Celsinho Macedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Although Goiás Esporte Clube had been in control for most of the match, Serbia still came away with the win.
