Tirense F.C.'s Waldir Palmeira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agnaldo Brodel in the 3rd minute of play. Waldir Palmeira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Agnaldo Brodel's shot from short distance in the 4th minute. In the 5th match minute, Tirense F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilberto Garcia to maneuver through the defense. Marcel de Amaral charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marcel de Amaral the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Catugi FC booed when Tirense F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcel de Amaral didn't get a good kick on the ball. Catugi FC's Walmir Duarte got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 12 minutes, Agnaldo Brodel made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Tirense F.C.'s Waldir Palmeira tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Catugi FC getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Aírton de Queiroz hit a great ball. Waldir Palmeira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dudu Borges in the 18th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jefferson Arósio during the 23rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 24thth minute of the game Agnaldo Brodel who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Tirense F.C.'s Waldir Palmeira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 30th minute, Agnaldo Brodel left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Catugi FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Waldir Palmeira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agnaldo Brodel in the 36th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Agnaldo Brodel's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Waldir Palmeira was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. In the 39th minute, Gilberto Garcia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 39 minutes of play, Catugi FC's Agnaldo Brodel made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Waldir Palmeira was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Zé Augusto Castro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Catugi FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Zé Augusto Castro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Waldir Palmeira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 45 minutes into the game, Catugi FC's Agnaldo Brodel nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Waldir Palmeira made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. The Tirense F.C. players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Catugi FC were winning 0-4.

The wind increased when Agnaldo Brodel made the kick off in the second half. Agnaldo Brodel's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Waldir Palmeira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. Waldir Palmeira had great luck who in the 53rdth minute grab hold of the ball when Agnaldo Brodel from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Waldir Palmeira was a little too slow when Agnaldo Brodel got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 56th minute. The score was now 0-5. Agnaldo Brodels short, quick shot in the 59thth minute got Waldir Palmeira to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 60 minutes into the match, Luiz Fernando Abraão had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Waldir Palmeira. Tirense F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luiz Fernando Abraão was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-6. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Agnaldo Brodel managed to get in a good position for a shot. Catugi FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Agnaldo Brodel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Waldir Palmeira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the last second Waldir Palmeira throw himself and got hold of the ball when Agnaldo Brodel in the 65thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Agnaldo Brodel blasted a shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Waldir Palmeira having to make a save. 70 minutes into the match Dudu Borges climbed in front of goal and pressed up 0-7 in the right cross behind a totally surprised Waldir Palmeira. In the 74thth minute of the game Agnaldo Brodel who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Tirense F.C.'s Waldir Palmeira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 76 minutes, Waldir Palmeira successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The Catugi FC fans' excitement grew in the 77th match minute when Catugi FC's Agnaldo Brodel looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-8 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Willian Tinoco managed to get in a good position for a shot. Catugi FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Willian Tinoco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Waldir Palmeira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Agnaldo Brodel in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Waldir Palmeira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Catugi FC's Agnaldo Brodel in the 83rd minute got a chance for a shot 83rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Tirense F.C.'s goalie prevented a goal. When the match had gone on for 85 minutes, Agnaldo Brodel put it in 0-9 from a short distance just to the right of Waldir Palmeira. 89 minutes into the match, Tirense F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Agnaldo Brodel came free, but Waldir Palmeira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Waldir Palmeira came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by Catugi FC's Luiz Fernando Abraão. But to his dismay, Luiz Fernando Abraão quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-10. With his leg Waldir Palmeira managed to avoid a goal in the 94thth minute, when Catugi FC's Agnaldo Brodel fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Waldir Palmeira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luiz Fernando Abraão in the 95th minute. The audience was convinced that Agnaldo Brodel's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Waldir Palmeira was relentless in the 96th minute of the game. When the final whistle sounded Catugi FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Tirense F.C..
