The audience thought a goal was coming when Kaká Botelho got free with José Augusto Mineiro in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Hamílton Travassos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Geovanni Fernandes in the 24th minute of the match. After 26 played minutes Guarani Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Kiko Negri. Falcão Mendonça could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but José Augusto Mineiro made a huge save. Guarani Futebol Clube's Geovanni Fernandes managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Pedro Paulo Montenegro in the 43 minute of the game. In the 43rdth minute of the game Cacá Gomes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Pura Arte F.C's Hamílton Travassos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Hamílton Travassos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kiko Negri, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cacá Gomes was the one to do the kick off. Cacá Gomes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Hamílton Travassos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 60 minutes, Cacá Gomes made it 2-2 with a short kick to the right side. Pura Arte F.C's Hamílton Travassos tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Kiko Negri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Pura Arte F.C booed when Guarani Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cacá Gomes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Guarani Futebol Clube's José Augusto Mineiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kaká Botelho in the 68th minute of play. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hamílton Travassos showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The Guarani Futebol Clube supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Guarani Futebol Clube would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
