Waldir Palmeira was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Wellington Figueiredo showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 7 minute of play. Wellington Figueiredo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Gilberto Garcia managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tirense F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Gilberto Garcia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcel Jacinto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 16th minute of the match, Washington Bezerra tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Waldir Palmeira saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Tirense F.C.'s Waldir Palmeira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Régis de Toledo in the 23rd minute of play. In the 28th minute, Afonsinho Freire hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Gilberto Garcia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. In the 47th play minute Washington Bezerra came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Waldir Palmeira. 3-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Régis de Toledo in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Waldir Palmeira saved Tirense F.C. from getting behind. Waldir Palmeira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wellington Figueiredo, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Waldir Palmeira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Régis de Toledo in the 79th minute of play. Waldir Palmeira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wellington Figueiredo in the 81st minute of the match. In the 84th minute Régis de Toledo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Waldir Palmeira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 99 minutes of play, Grêmio Bulls's Wellington Figueiredo made it 7-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Waldir Palmeira was left in no man's land by his defense there!
