It was a well-played corner which Cláudio Donatello managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gualter Vinhas during the 9th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Gualter Vinhas hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Tomé Bittencourt's late challenge caught a Heidemann FC - FSCMZ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tomé Bittencourt helped the player get up and apologised. In the 11th match minute, Palmeiras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomé Bittencourt to maneuver through the defense. João Carlos Paraíba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adriano Cunha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. João Carlos Paraíba showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fábio de Souza in the 32nd minute of the match. João Carlos Paraíba didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cláudio Donatello went, in the 35th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Heidemann FC - FSCMZ's João Carlos Paraíba proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save Heidemann FC - FSCMZ from getting a goal against them. After some careless play in the Heidemann FC - FSCMZ defense, Adriano Cunha kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of João Carlos Paraíba. The Heidemann FC - FSCMZ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that João Carlos Paraíba should have stopped the shot. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Anderson Domingues kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. A hard shot 53 in the game by Ivo de Mendonça from a close distance when the talented Jacinto Chaves managed to make a qualified save. Palmeiras's players were relieved. 54 minutes into the match, Heidemann FC - FSCMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Adriano Cunha came free, but João Carlos Paraíba reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
