Thanks to some nice moves Malin Karolev could shoot a difficult shot in the 27th minute, which Sobhy Paredes however easily saved by the left post. 29 minutes into the match, E.C.Pelotas's goalkeeper Sobhy Paredes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ahmet Yahya Burçak. In the 33rd minute Alfonso Leon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jan Figlewski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 35 played minutes E.C.Pelotas got a freekick which was hit by Erivaldo Furlan. Sobhy Paredes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Malin Karolev's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. E.C.Pelotas's Sobhy Paredes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save E.C.Pelotas from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ahmet Yahya Burçak in the 40th minute of play forced E.C.Pelotas's goalkeeper Sobhy Paredes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. E.C.Pelotas's Sobhy Paredes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chiquinho Pombal in the 42nd minute of play. In the 45th minute Ahmet Yahya Burçak shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sobhy Paredes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jan Figlewski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilhelm Rolfsson in the 46th minute of the match. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alfonso Leon stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jan Figlewski made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lionel Ronaldo in the 58th minute. After having played for 61 minutes, Chiquinho Pombal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Abutres 2003 FDP's supporters crossed their fingers, but Chiquinho Pombal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The E.C.Pelotas fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sobhy Paredes should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Malin Karolev in the 75th minute of play forced E.C.Pelotas's goalkeeper Sobhy Paredes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 77 minutes had been played when some careless play by E.C.Pelotas's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Qu Yao Yang was slow to take the kick. During this time Abutres 2003 FDP's players had a chance to rest.
