The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 2 minutes into the match, BOTAFOGO's goalkeeper Alfonso Taraborrelli had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leandro Fonseca. In the 7th minute Jardel Velloso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfonso Taraborrelli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Juvenal Talló showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kauan Melo, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. After taking down the ball on Bene Animatus's corner Sílvio Luís Prata fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Alfonso Taraborrelli quite easily take care of the ball. In the 20th minute, Leandro Fonseca left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Bene Animatus fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Leandro Fonseca got free with Alfonso Taraborrelli in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bene Animatus's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Sílvio Luís Prata in the 25th minute. Alfonso Taraborrelli made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jardel Velloso in the 33rd minute. In the 35th minute Toninho Madureira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juvenal Talló saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 38th minute, Bene Animatus's Guido Rodriguez seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Guido Rodriguez the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Bene Animatus protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Guido Rodriguez had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 37th minute, one of Bene Animatus:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Bene Animatus. Simon Hooker received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Alfonso Taraborrelli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Leandro Fonseca was the one to do the kick off. Toninho Madureira's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 50thth minute, Juvenal Talló skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Leandro Fonseca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfonso Taraborrelli having to interfere. Sílvio Luís Prata's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alfonso Taraborrelli read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. In the 62nd minute, Leandro Fonseca ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alfonso Taraborrelli was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Juvenal Talló made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kauan Melo in the 70th minute. Bene Animatus's Juvenal Talló proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save Bene Animatus from getting a goal against them. 70 minutes into the match, BOTAFOGO's Jaanek Oese sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Juvenal Talló narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 71 minutes Bene Animatus's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Kauan Melo who took care of the corner kick. It was a well-played corner which Dorian Cavalcante managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Alfonso Taraborrelli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leandro Fonseca in the 75th minute of the match. Sílvio Luís Prata sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 79 minutes into the match, José Paulo Cavalcante notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of BOTAFOGO's Alfonso Taraborrelli. Alfonso Taraborrelli was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Sílvio Luís Prata hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. Alfonso Taraborrelli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leandro Fonseca, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Leandro Fonseca took the ball and in the 89 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alfonso Taraborrelli. Alfonso Taraborrelli dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. Leandro Fonseca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfonso Taraborrelli having to interfere. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Bene Animatus fully deserved thier win.
