The audience was convinced that Toninho Madureira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pedrinho de Queirós was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Alfa FC's Geovani Viana got a free kick in the 52nd minute. 54 minutes into the game, Arthur Varela was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Alfa FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave BOTAFOGO the free kick. In the 54th minute, Arthur Varela hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 63rd minute the ball was on its way in behind BOTAFOGO's goalkeeper Alfonso Taraborrelli, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Édouard Deloge recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 70th minute Toninho Madureira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedrinho de Queirós saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The BOTAFOGO fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-1. After 96 minutes of play, BOTAFOGO's Édouard Deloge made it 6-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Pedrinho de Queirós was left in no man's land by his defense there! It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. BOTAFOGO had played much better football throughout.
