If Michel Agüero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 13th minute, Robert McNeill hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Michel Agüero's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 15thth minute, Alexander Higgins skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luiz Guilherme Romero got free with Alexander Higgins in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 31 minutes into the game, Michel Agüero lined in a short shot 5-0 behind a frustrated Alexander Higgins. 34 minutes into the game, Ashton Nelson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Scotland's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Jucuitiba the free kick. Michel Agüero might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alexander Higgins. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Michel Agüero ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Guilherme Romero in the 38th minute of play forced Scotland's goalkeeper Alexander Higgins to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Luiz Guilherme Romero managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jucuitiba's supporters rose to their feet, but Luiz Guilherme Romero was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alexander Higgins breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 40 minutes into the match, Scotland's goal looked a bit too open when Michel Agüero came free, but Alexander Higgins reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alexander Higgins came out of the goal in the 56th minute to try and stop a shot by Jucuitiba's Alfredão Gomes. But to his dismay, Alfredão Gomes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-0. After some careless play in the Scotland defense, Jonathan Galvão kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alexander Higgins. The Scotland fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alexander Higgins should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Jucuitiba getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Alfredão Gomes hit a great ball. Alfredão Gomes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Alexander Higgins tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 71 minutes into the match, Jucuitiba's Jonathan Galvão sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alexander Higgins narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Alexander Higgins didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Róbson Abreu went, in the 74th minute, to the upper right corner, 9-0 was the resulting score. After 82 minutes of play, Jucuitiba's Alfredão Gomes made it 11-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alexander Higgins was left in no man's land by his defense there! 89 minutes into the game, Michel Agüero cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 12-0. Alexander Higgins was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Scotland's Alexander Higgins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Michel Agüero in the 93rd minute of play.
