The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Arkadiusz Traczewski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Suat Kaya, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Suat Kaya received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Arkadiusz Traczewski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Suat Kaya had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 17 minutes into the match, Czarna Staszów's goal looked a bit too open when Suat Kaya came free, but Arkadiusz Traczewski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 18 minutes, Wlodzimierz Wydrych mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Czarna Staszów and the Genk players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 18th match minute, Czarna Staszów was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wlodzimierz Wydrych to maneuver through the defense. Hidayet Babür recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rain De Hond received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Arkadiusz Traczewski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 30 minutes into the match, Suat Kaya notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Czarna Staszów's Arkadiusz Traczewski. Arkadiusz Traczewski was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind Czarna Staszów's goalkeeper Arkadiusz Traczewski, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Alexander Klemensson kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. In the 46th minute, Daniel Scislowicz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After the first half Genk were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Teobald Szkarpiak to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Czarna Staszów getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Mieszko Figlewski hit a great ball. Suat Kaya's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 60thth minute, Arkadiusz Traczewski skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Rain De Hond sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In a very dangerous position, a player in Czarna Staszów fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 67th minute. Penalty! In the 75th minute, Genk's Vergil Rupov dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-3. After a defensive mix-up in Czarna Staszów's zone, Vergil Rupov stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arkadiusz Traczewski came out of the goal and Vergil Rupov tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rain De Hond received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Arkadiusz Traczewski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 89th minute, Vergil Rupov left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Genk fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. Czarna Staszów's defense didn't have a chance, in the 97th minute, when Vergil Rupov scored to the left of an out of position Arkadiusz Traczewski, making the score, 0-5. Genk's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
