Tomás Angel could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Victorino Misael made a huge save. In the 22nd minute Arnulfo Madeo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lev Yashin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lev Yashin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arnulfo Madeo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rogelio Efraim scored 1-1 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lev Yashin, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some careless play in the Three Deck Wizards defense, Freddy Roig kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Victorino Misael. The Three Deck Wizards fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Victorino Misael should have stopped the shot.
