Club Atlético Atlanta's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cai Cheng Sang was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The Bennis fans' excitement grew in the 17th match minute when Bennis's Sven-Åke Granberg looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sven-Åke Granberg in the 24th minute of play forced Club Atlético Atlanta's goalkeeper Carlos Germano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Bennis booed when Club Atlético Atlanta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Remigio Erramu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cai Cheng Sang recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Carlos Germano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sven-Åke Granberg in the 31st minute of the match. In the 32nd minute of the match Bennis got a corner. Club Atlético Atlanta's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Lin Xuan Hai ran over to the corner to take the kick. Bennis's Leonardo Jara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedro Rojelio in the 36th minute of play. Cai Cheng Sang scored 0-4 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Carlos Germano, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Carlos Germano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cai Cheng Sang, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. When Pedro Rojelio fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Atlético Atlanta's protests and gave Pedro Rojelio a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Club Atlético Atlanta getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Pedro Rojelio hit a great ball. In the 42nd minute, Cai Cheng Sang got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A sloppy throw-in by Aquiles Oihenarte in the 46th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Bennis's Thodoris Katsiaros. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eustaquio Jaizki to make the kick off. In the 59th minute of the game Aquiles Oihenarte made a throw-in which Paolo Caradaro played forward. In the 61st minute, Bennis's Cai Cheng Sang ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Carlos Germano. Carlos Germano yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-6. 64 minutes into the game, Cai Cheng Sang recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Carlos Germano. Cai Cheng Sang showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-7. When Bennis's Cai Cheng Sang in the 67th minute got a chance for a shot 67th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Club Atlético Atlanta's goalie prevented a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cai Cheng Sang got free with Carlos Germano in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 77thth minute of the game Pål Uggstedt who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Club Atlético Atlanta's Carlos Germano was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Edgard Barros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leonardo Jara having to interfere. Carlos Germano made a fantastic save in the 89th minute, when Pål Uggstedt sent off a good shot on target. In the 92nd minute Pål Uggstedt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Germano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 94 minutes into the match, Club Atlético Atlanta's goalkeeper Carlos Germano had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pål Uggstedt. After a rather tough play, Club Atlético Atlanta's Pedro Rojelio got a free kick in the 94th minute.
