Liam Edmunds took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eustaquio Jaizki, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Real Chelsea's Liam Edmunds played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eustaquio Jaizki in the 7th minute of play. In the 8th minute, Lázaro Cuartio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eustaquio Jaizki fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Liam Edmunds having to interfere. Drew Lampard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Carlos Germano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Drew Lampard recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Eustaquio Jaizkis short, quick shot in the 21stth minute got Liam Edmunds to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Eustaquio Jaizki could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Liam Edmunds made a huge save. With his leg Liam Edmunds managed to avoid a goal in the 31stth minute, when Club Atlético Atlanta's Eustaquio Jaizki fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Jonathon Theobold kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Liam Edmunds stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eustaquio Jaizki's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. A well-hit corner resulted in Benigno Abreu heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Liam Edmunds made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eustaquio Jaizki in the 37th minute. In the 40th minute of the match Club Atlético Atlanta got a corner. Real Chelsea's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ciro Ferdinand ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Club Atlético Atlanta's Ciro Ferdinand to fire away a dangerous shot which Liam Edmunds despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Real Chelsea's Liam Edmunds proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save Real Chelsea from getting a goal against them. Jonathon Theobold kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. In the 46th minute of the match Ciro Ferdinand sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Liam Edmunds skillfully saved the ball. A hard shot 47 in the game by Eustaquio Jaizki from a close distance when the talented Liam Edmunds managed to make a qualified save. Real Chelsea's players were relieved. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eustaquio Jaizki was the one to do the kick off. Liam Edmunds made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benigno Abreu in the 51st minute of play. Liam Edmunds didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eustaquio Jaizki went, in the 52nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. When Buster Best fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Real Chelsea's protests and gave Buster Best a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Real Chelsea getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Buster Best hit a great ball. Liam Edmunds showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ciro Ferdinand, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. With a little luck, Club Atlético Atlanta's Carlos Germano got control of the ball when John Halford tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Club Atlético Atlanta fans cheered their team off the field, for while Real Chelsea had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
