When Sebastian Pena came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Lugano 1 y 2 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sebastian Pena couldn't finish the play. Lugano 1 y 2's Jacindo Basanguren proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Lugano 1 y 2 from getting a goal against them. Lugano 1 y 2's Constantino Toro suffered a concussion in the 28th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. 28 minutes into the game, Abelardo Venceslao was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. MDQ Raptors FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lugano 1 y 2 the free kick. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Järvenperä to make the kick off. In the 91st minute Hermengildo Ursino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacindo Basanguren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lugano 1 y 2's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
