Romeu Borges took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Evelio Pes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Evelio Pes might have been able to make a better finish in the 31st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Romeu Borges. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Evelio Pes ran back to his position shaking his head. Barra EC's Romeu Borges played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evelio Pes in the 37th minute of play. In the 40thth minute of the game Evelio Pes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Barra EC's Romeu Borges was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 41 minutes, Evelio Pes made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Barra EC's Romeu Borges tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When Wilhelm Steinitz fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Sportivo Italiano's protests and gave Wilhelm Steinitz a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Barra EC booed when Club Sportivo Italiano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wilhelm Steinitz didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match was over Club Sportivo Italiano could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Barra EC throughout the match.
