When Renato Paraíba came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the SELEVASCO fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Renato Paraíba couldn't finish the play. When SELEVASCO's Cãtãlin Hâldan in the 6th minute got a chance for a shot 6th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Lugano 1 y 2's goalie prevented a goal. SELEVASCO were awarded a corner in the 7th minute after Lugano 1 y 2's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Cãtãlin Hâldan took the corner. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Xavier Van Dijk in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jacindo Basanguren saved Lugano 1 y 2 from getting behind. Silvestre Tabb hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Nico Pizzi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Constantino Toro, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. In the 15th minute Cãtãlin Hâldan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacindo Basanguren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Patrick Cunha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jacindo Basanguren having to interfere. In the 19th minute of the match, Daren McCollum tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Nico Pizzi saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Xavier Van Dijk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Patrick Cunha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Jacindo Basanguren tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lugano 1 y 2's Jacindo Basanguren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Xavier Van Dijk in the 39th minute of play. 40 minutes into the match, SELEVASCO's goalkeeper Nico Pizzi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Constantino Toro. After 42 played minutes Lugano 1 y 2 got a freekick which was hit by Uwe Spies. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Constantino Toro to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, SELEVASCO's Cãtãlin Hâldan dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. Jacindo Basanguren made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Patrick Cunha sent off a good shot on target. Lugano 1 y 2's Jacindo Basanguren proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save Lugano 1 y 2 from getting a goal against them. Nico Pizzi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 67th minute, Uwe Spies made a precise shot to the right of Nico Pizzi. SELEVASCO's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. SELEVASCO's Xavier Van Dijk got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jacindo Basanguren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Renato Paraíba, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Jacindo Basanguren was a little too slow when Cãtãlin Hâldan got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 76th minute. The score was now 2-3. After a rather tough play, SELEVASCO's Patrick Cunha got a free kick in the 89th minute. In the 95th minute, Lugano 1 y 2's Nestor Haritz seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Nestor Haritz the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Lugano 1 y 2 protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Nestor Haritz had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 94th minute of the game. One of Lugano 1 y 2:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of SELEVASCO:s goal. With a little luck, Lugano 1 y 2's Jacindo Basanguren got control of the ball when Cãtãlin Hâldan tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. SELEVASCO had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
