Desiderio Alvarez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marciano Füller, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Marciano Füller had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 23rd minute Sebastian Piñera shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Desiderio Alvarez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Amancio Firmo during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee gave Snorlax FC a penalty, 32 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Vincente Felice, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Black Rose 1979's Desiderio Alvarez. 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gerard Aris got free with Desiderio Alvarez in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Desiderio Alvarez made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marciano Füller in the 48th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
