Gervásio Mascarenhas charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gervásio Mascarenhas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to FC Dezassete getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Gervásio Mascarenhas hit a great ball. 12 minutes into the match, FC Dezassete's goal looked a bit too open when Ronaldo Pirani came free, but Valentim Carmona reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ronaldo Pirani came free with the goalkeeper in the 13th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Valentim Carmona could save by the left post. The supporters of Palestra do Interior booed when FC Dezassete was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vivaldo Caneira didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Anísio Carneiro came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Palestra do Interior fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anísio Carneiro couldn't finish the play. Valentim Carmona was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Nelsinho Marinho showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 18 minute of play. Valentim Carmona made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Christiano Palmeira sent off a good shot on target. David Caires charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed David Caires the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to FC Dezassete getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. David Caires hit a great ball. Ronaldo Pirani was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 25th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. 30 minutes into the match, Ronaldo Pirani had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Valentim Carmona. FC Dezassete's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ronaldo Pirani was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Valentim Carmona showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronaldo Pirani, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Christiano Palmeira in the 37th minute of play forced FC Dezassete's goalkeeper Valentim Carmona to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Valentim Carmona made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ronaldo Pirani in the 43rd minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 54th minute Anísio Carneiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valentim Carmona saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Carol Ferraz fell near the penalty area in the 76th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Dezassete's protests and gave Carol Ferraz a yellow card for diving instead. In the 76th match minute, FC Dezassete was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carol Ferraz to maneuver through the defense.
