Salud y República's supporters rose to their feet, but Archibaldo Ecija was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Túlio de Toledo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 22nd minute, Roben Reyes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 45th minute of the match Juan Dominguez sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Túlio de Toledo skillfully saved the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Túlio de Toledo stood somewhat misplaced when Neron Companys came free in front of goal and shot 1-1 to the left of him in the 84 minute. If Juvenal Nóbrega had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Despite being the better team, Seterma Tractors failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
