The Mayhem Sharks fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Darwin Núñez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Wellington de Almeida made a huge save. Wellington de Almeida was a little too slow when Darwin Núñez got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 21st minute. The score was now 1-1. In the 31st minute Marcelino Segio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bayan Gugovski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Darwin Núñez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Wellington de Almeida tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Wellington de Almeida was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of Merengue FC booed when Mayhem Sharks was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arcadio Valdés didn't get a good kick on the ball.
