Hílton Cosme recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kléber Saldanha kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. In the 12th minute Danilo Milian shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juan Velloso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Anibal Egoitz came out of the goal in the 13th minute to try and stop a shot by Oranil's Edmílson Catarinense. But to his dismay, Edmílson Catarinense quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After 16 minutes of play, Oranil's Sérgio Freire made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Anibal Egoitz was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmílson Catarinense in the 19th minute of play forced El Retorno de Palermo's goalkeeper Anibal Egoitz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, El Retorno de Palermo's Danilo Milian got a free kick in the 29th minute. 35 minutes into the game, Oranil's Sérgio das Neves nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Anibal Egoitz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. Angelino Bernard kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. After the first half Oranil were leading 0-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Edmílson Catarinense made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Kiko Teixeira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Anibal Egoitz was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-6. 60 minutes into the match, Edmílson Catarinense dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Anibal Egoitz, 0-7. In the 65th minute Danilo Milian shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juan Velloso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 73rd match minute, El Retorno de Palermo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Angelino Bernard to maneuver through the defense. 74 minutes into the match, El Retorno de Palermo's goal looked a bit too open when Sérgio das Neves came free, but Anibal Egoitz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, El Retorno de Palermo's Anibal Egoitz got control of the ball when Kléber Saldanha tried to sneak it across the goal line. 78 minutes into the game, Danilo Milian cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-7. Juan Velloso was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. El Retorno de Palermo's Anibal Egoitz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save El Retorno de Palermo from getting a goal against them. The crowd rose to their feet as Oranil's Kiko Teixeira slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Anibal Egoitz. That made the score 1-8 after 86 minutes of play. Anibal Egoitz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Edmílson Catarinense in the 91st minute.
