The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. César Vergílio was a little too slow when Barnaba Kilarski got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 3rd minute. The score was now 1-0. After some careless play in the A. A. SAQUAREMA defense, Barnaba Kilarski kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of César Vergílio. The A. A. SAQUAREMA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that César Vergílio should have stopped the shot. In the 12th minute, Arnulfo Tancredo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. César Vergílio was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronaldinho Macedo in the 15th minute of play forced JS 22's goalkeeper Jairo Elixio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jairo Elixio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bobbo á Neystabø, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. 24 minutes into the game, Gaston Sadurni cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. César Vergílio was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. César Vergílio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Barnaba Kilarski, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Barnaba Kilarski received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. César Vergílio came out and tried to block the shot, but Barnaba Kilarski slotted it home off the left post making it 5-0 in the 30th minute. A. A. SAQUAREMA's César Vergílio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Barnaba Kilarski in the 38th minute of play. 40 minutes into the match, JS 22's goal looked a bit too open when Bobbo á Neystabø came free, but Jairo Elixio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alfonso Cilio kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. Jairo Elixio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bobbo á Neystabø in the 47th minute of play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Arnulfo Tancredo made a kick off. A collision led to JS 22 getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Marciano Madaleno hit a great ball. After 55 minutes, Gaston Sadurni mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the JS 22 and the A. A. SAQUAREMA players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 56th minute, Gaston Sadurni hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 59th minute, Arnulfo Tancredo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. César Vergílio was frozen by the shot and now it was 7-0. 66 minutes into the game, JS 22's Arnulfo Tancredo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. César Vergílio made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 8-0. After 68 played minutes A. A. SAQUAREMA got a freekick which was hit by Túlio Laguna. Arnulfo Tancredo took the ball and in the 80 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised César Vergílio. César Vergílio dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 9-0. After a defensive mix-up in A. A. SAQUAREMA's zone, Gaston Sadurni stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. César Vergílio came out of the goal and Gaston Sadurni tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Barnaba Kilarski managed to get in a good position for a shot. JS 22's supporters rose to their feet, but Barnaba Kilarski was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. César Vergílio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. César Vergílio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Darío Cvitanich, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. JS 22's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
