Andres Lastur dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 18th minute, Anton Donose ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Andres Lastur was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Hong Qing showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Teobaldo Ubarna in the 22nd minute of the match. The throw-in from Celso Barrientos in the 24th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by El Renacer del Quijano FC's Nicanor Salvino. After a rather tough play, El Renacer del Quijano FC's Nicanor Salvino got a free kick in the 25th minute. A collision led to El Renacer del Quijano FC getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Nicanor Salvino hit a great ball. Club Atlético Lea Papá were awarded a corner in the 34th minute after El Renacer del Quijano FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Celso Barrientos took the corner. In the 34th minute, Ivan Thompson fired away a hard free kick towards the goal. Andres Lastur moved to his left, but didn't have to make a save as the ball went out of bounds. Anton Donose's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Andres Lastur read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. In the 42nd minute of the match Club Atlético Lea Papá got a corner. El Renacer del Quijano FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Celso Barrientos ran over to the corner to take the kick. Club Atlético Lea Papá's Horacio Carbonari was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Andres Lastur in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. El Renacer del Quijano FC's attentive Nicanor Salvino managed to snatch the ball when Celso Barrientos made a throw-in in the 46th minute of the game. After the first half Club Atlético Lea Papá were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Teobaldo Ubarna to strike the kick off in the second half. When Alan Marinelli fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Atlético Lea Papá's protests and gave Alan Marinelli a yellow card for diving instead. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
