The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ivo Domingues might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jairo Elixio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ivo Domingues ran back to his position shaking his head. 18 minutes into the game, Šime Vrsaljko was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. JS 22's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vae Victis!! the free kick. In the 18th minute, Šime Vrsaljko hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vitório Pimenta scored 0-1 in the 19th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jairo Elixio, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jairo Elixio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lauro Sarmento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 29 minutes, Darío Cvitanich took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Tiago Gabriel Cabral to make any attempt to save it. When Jonathan de Queiroz fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vae Victis!!'s protests and gave Jonathan de Queiroz a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Vae Victis!!'s Jonathan de Queiroz got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Jairo Elixio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vitório Pimenta, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Darío Cvitanich in the 36thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Tiago Gabriel Cabral, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Darío Cvitanich got free with Tiago Gabriel Cabral in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With his leg Tiago Gabriel Cabral managed to avoid a goal in the 46thth minute, when JS 22's Darío Cvitanich fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Vitório Pimenta to make the kick off. 52 minutes had been played when some careless play by JS 22's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Délio Tasso was slow to take the kick. During this time Vae Victis!!'s players had a chance to rest. Vae Victis!!'s Délio Tasso was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jairo Elixio in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Arnulfo Tancredo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tiago Gabriel Cabral read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. Jairo Elixio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vitório Pimenta in the 55th minute. When Arnulfo Tancredo came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the JS 22 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arnulfo Tancredo couldn't finish the play. In the 70th match minute, JS 22 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Filomeno Obano to maneuver through the defense. Vae Victis!! made a substitution. Bebeto Dantas replaced Dorian Neto. Barnaba Kilarski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When the match had been going on for 78 minutes, Vae Victis!!'s Délio Tasso got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Jairo Elixio. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Darío Cvitanich in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tiago Gabriel Cabral saved Vae Victis!! from getting behind. Jairo Elixio made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Falcão Garcia sent off a good shot on target. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind JS 22's goalkeeper Jairo Elixio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Vae Victis!! booed when JS 22 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tom Walton didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jairo Elixio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Falcão Garcia in the 97th minute. The Vae Victis!! players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
