In the 10th minute Fred Kirkpatrick shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but János Moravecz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Zamalek FC booed when SÉ SE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Celso Sabóia didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 12th minute Davis Duff shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but János Moravecz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Zamalek FC's Rhys Dimmock got control of the ball when Levente Ballai tried to sneak it across the goal line. Zamalek FC's Rhys Dimmock proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Zamalek FC from getting a goal against them. János Moravecz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leonardo Lane in the 18th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mugurel Balaeț in the 20th minute of play forced SÉ SE's goalkeeper János Moravecz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 22 minutes into the game, SÉ SE's Wen Bing Liang nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rhys Dimmock made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. In the 26thth minute of the game Wen Bing Liang who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Zamalek FC's Rhys Dimmock was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Wen Bing Liang's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rhys Dimmock was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. 32 minutes into the game, Wen Bing Liang cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Rhys Dimmock was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Wen Bing Liang could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Rhys Dimmock made a huge save. When SÉ SE's Wen Bing Liang in 40 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Rhys Dimmock guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Mugurel Balaeț scored 2-1 in the 44th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of János Moravecz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

Kálmán Ónodi hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Mugurel Balaeț sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Attila Pálffy in the 58th minute of play forced Zamalek FC's goalkeeper Rhys Dimmock to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 61 minutes into the match, Zamalek FC's goal looked a bit too open when Attila Pálffy came free, but Rhys Dimmock reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Leonardo Lane showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-2. If Attila Pálffy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zamalek FC made a substitution. Tytus Banaszak replaced Sergey Krasinskiy. 75 minutes into the match, Zamalek FC's goal looked a bit too open when Wen Bing Liang came free, but Rhys Dimmock reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rhys Dimmock showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Attila Pálffy in the 78th minute of the match. With a little luck, SÉ SE's János Moravecz got control of the ball when Fred Kirkpatrick tried to sneak it across the goal line. Zamalek FC's Rhys Dimmock played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wen Bing Liang in the 83rd minute of play. János Moravecz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mugurel Balaeț in the 89th minute of play. 91 minutes into the match, SÉ SE's Attila Pálffy sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rhys Dimmock narrowly saved just below the crossbar. János Moravecz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jann Bernickow in the 93rd minute of the match. After some careless play in the SÉ SE defense, Daron Joseph kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of János Moravecz. The SÉ SE fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that János Moravecz should have stopped the shot. Although SÉ SE had been in control for most of the match, Zamalek FC still came away with the win.
