Ionică Mihaiu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After 11 minutes of play, Vetevendosje FC's Hjalmar Petersson made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ionică Mihaiu was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 14th minute, Niklas Ekerot hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. bullfinches's Nae Morar got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ionică Mihaiu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Niklas Ekerot in the 17th minute of the match. In the 33rd minute Roland Rosendahl shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ionică Mihaiu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ionică Mihaiu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Niklas Ekerot went, in the 35th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. Vetevendosje FC's Eşref Tuney played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Narcis Banica in the 40th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nae Morar in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eşref Tuney saved Vetevendosje FC from getting behind. In the 42nd minute of the match bullfinches got a corner. Vetevendosje FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Nae Morar ran over to the corner to take the kick. After 47 played minutes bullfinches got a freekick which was hit by Ferdinand Luca. The bullfinches players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Vetevendosje FC were winning 1-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jan Smolarek stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The referee felt a red card was in order, 53 minutes into the game, when Karl-Magnus Sävström put in a rough tackle. After 53 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Vetevendosje FC! Nae Morar placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Ionică Mihaiu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Roland Rosendahl went, in the 56th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-4 was the resulting score. The crowd rose to their feet as Jan Smolarek kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ionică Mihaiu. That made the score 1-5 in the 62 minute of play. When Aristide Crivac came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the bullfinches fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aristide Crivac couldn't finish the play. Vetevendosje FC's Andy Eklund was substituted for Niklas Ekerot. Ionică Mihaiu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roland Rosendahl, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ionică Mihaiu made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Andy Eklund sent off a good shot on target. After 72 minutes of play, Vetevendosje FC's Jan Smolarek made it 1-6 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucas Beltrán in the 78th minute of play forced bullfinches's goalkeeper Ionică Mihaiu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jan Smolarek got free with Ionică Mihaiu in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 88th minute Jan Smolarek shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ionică Mihaiu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 90th minute, Aron Costea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Andy Eklund blasted a shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ionică Mihaiu having to make a save. In the 94th minute Nae Morar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eşref Tuney saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eşref Tuney made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Narcis Banica in the 97th minute of play.
