Antonio Adán showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bruno Soveral, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Antonio Adán didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nicolas Gois went, in the 23rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. If Zigmantas Gimbutas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 29 minutes into the match, SC Braga's goal looked a bit too open when 刘洋朗 came free, but Antonio Adán reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 31st minute 刘洋朗 shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antonio Adán saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Antonio Adán didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nicolas Gois went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-4 was the resulting score. A collision led to SC Braga getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Lu Xun Lei hit a great ball. Disappointed in the 1-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Zigmantas Gimbutas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Petruț Dicu came out of the goal in the 52nd minute to try and stop a shot by SC Braga's Zigmantas Gimbutas. But to his dismay, Zigmantas Gimbutas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-4. Bruno Soveral kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. In the 56th minute, Quintino Carvalhais ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Petruț Dicu was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-4. SC Braga made a substitution. Stig-Åke Mattsson replaced Zigmantas Gimbutas. The crowd rose to their feet as Nicolas Gois kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Antonio Adán. That made the score 3-6 in the 66 minute of play. 68 minutes into the game, SC Braga's Stig-Åke Mattsson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Petruț Dicu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-6. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stig-Åke Mattsson in the 72nd minute of play forced Exército Português's goalkeeper Petruț Dicu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Exército Português's Toro Lindø was substituted for Nicolas Gois. Exército Português made a substitution. Gergely Balázs replaced Bruno Soveral. Exército Português's Ademar Borges managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Alberto Malheiro in the 76 minute of the game. In the 78th minute the ball was on its way in behind Exército Português's goalkeeper Petruț Dicu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Stig-Åke Mattsson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Petruț Dicu was relentless in the 80th minute of the game.
