Mao Zhen Hong made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Magno Aparecido in the 3rd minute of play. Magno Aparecido received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Mao Zhen Hong tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Academia Monte Gordo's Mao Zhen Hong proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save Academia Monte Gordo from getting a goal against them. Minho FC's André Figueiredo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabrício Lustosa in the 18th minute of play. When Minho FC's Magno Aparecido in the 20th minute got a chance for a shot 20th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Academia Monte Gordo's goalie prevented a goal. Mao Zhen Hong took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Magno Aparecido, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fabrício Lustosa scored 0-1 in the 25th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of André Figueiredo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 34 minutes into the match, Academia Monte Gordo's goalkeeper Mao Zhen Hong had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Magno Aparecido. In the 37th minute Fabrício Lustosa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but André Figueiredo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Cláudio Santiago fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Minho FC's protests and gave Cláudio Santiago a yellow card for diving instead. In the 39th minute, one of Minho FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Minho FC. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Simon Matsson during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Simon Matsson hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Minho FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Yu Ran Zhen in the 46th minute. A nice corner shot did that Yu Ran Zhen got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Mao Zhen Hong quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fabrício Lustosa to make the kick off. In the 51st minute, Vladimiro Gago hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. André Figueiredo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabrício Lustosa, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. A collision led to Minho FC getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Salah el Din Khan hit a great ball. The supporters of Academia Monte Gordo booed when Minho FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vladimiro Gago didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind Minho FC's goalkeeper André Figueiredo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Magno Aparecido fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mao Zhen Hong having to interfere. André Figueiredo made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Christian Westerstrand sent off a good shot on target. 67 minutes into the match, Minho FC's goalkeeper André Figueiredo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Christian Westerstrand. Magno Aparecido's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mao Zhen Hong read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. Minho FC's Antero Mendes was substituted for Salah el Din Khan. After having played for 72 minutes, Christian Westerstrand managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Academia Monte Gordo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Christian Westerstrand was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Christian Westerstrand had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Vladimiro Gago hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Minho FC's Hélder Soveral was substituted for Magno Aparecido. Christian Westerstrand's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but André Figueiredo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 90th minute of play.
