Magno Aparecido's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Antonio Adán read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 6th minute of play. In the 7th minute of the match, Magno Aparecido tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Antonio Adán saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Magno Aparecido could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Antonio Adán made a huge save. André Figueiredo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zigmantas Gimbutas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 24 played minutes Minho FC got a freekick which was hit by Vladimiro Gago. André Figueiredo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zigmantas Gimbutas, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. When SC Braga's Zigmantas Gimbutas in the 36th minute got a chance for a shot 36th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Minho FC's goalie prevented a goal. André Figueiredo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Zigmantas Gimbutas went, in the 39th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Zigmantas Gimbutas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without André Figueiredo having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Zigmantas Gimbutas made the kick off in the second half. Demetrio Savini made in the 51st minute of the game a quick throw-in and Rowan Dobson immediately put the ball in play. In the 53rd match minute, Minho FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cláudio Santiago to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to SC Braga getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Charl De Metser hit a great ball. 60 minutes into the match, SC Braga's goal looked a bit too open when Yu Ran Zhen came free, but Antonio Adán reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 60 minutes of play, Minho FC's Yu Ran Zhen made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Antonio Adán was left in no man's land by his defense there! When the match had gone on for 69 minutes, Stig-Åke Mattsson took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for André Figueiredo to make any attempt to save it. Minho FC made a substitution. Antero Mendes replaced Salah el Din Khan. After 78 played minutes SC Braga got a freekick which was hit by Quintino Carvalhais. In the 81st minute, Magno Aparecido got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Minho FC's Hélder Soveral was substituted for Magno Aparecido. The supporters of SC Braga booed when Minho FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cláudio Santiago didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, SC Braga's Quintino Carvalhais got a free kick in the 90th minute. When the match had gone on for 95 minutes, Stig-Åke Mattsson took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for André Figueiredo to make any attempt to save it.
