Jorge Caetano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raul Leal in the 6th minute of play. The supporters of Viseu United booed when SC Freiburg 09 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Humberto Carmo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 12th minute Abílio Passos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jorge Caetano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jorge Caetano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vasco Brás, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Raul Leal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Jorge Caetano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Serafim Garcez made in the 32nd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Vasco Brás however managed to control. Jorge Caetano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raul Leal in the 37th minute of the match. After 38 played minutes SC Freiburg 09 got a freekick which was hit by Serafim Garcez. After 39 minutes of play, Viseu United's Amado Salazar made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ivo Guterres was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jorge Caetano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raul Leal in the 42nd minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Hamílton Linhares hit a great freekick 50 minutes into the match. Viseu United's Jorge Caetano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Viseu United from getting a goal against them. Amado Salazar took the ball and in the 55 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ivo Guterres. Ivo Guterres dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. SC Freiburg 09's Ivo Guterres played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amado Salazar in the 58th minute of play. Hamílton Linhares charged in rather forcefully in the 61st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hamílton Linhares the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 64th minute Vasco Brás shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jorge Caetano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 66 minutes, Ziemowit Gdowski managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Viseu United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ziemowit Gdowski was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Viseu United made a substitution. Teobald Jekot replaced Adalberto Marquez. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vasco Brás got free with Jorge Caetano in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 75th minute, Raul Leal reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jorge Caetano. The goal made the score 2-1. After 78 played minutes Viseu United got a freekick which was hit by Valter Bentes. 79 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when SC Freiburg 09's Raul Leal fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. Ziemowit Gdowski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Jorge Caetano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abílio Passos in the 84th minute of play. 84 minutes into the game, SC Freiburg 09's Abílio Passos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jorge Caetano made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2.
