An unexpectedly hard shot by Loukianos Livas in the 13th minute of play forced Academia Monte Gordo's goalkeeper Mao Zhen Hong to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Adélio Brites hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. 17 minutes into the game, Academia Monte Gordo's Fabrício Lustosa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Armindo Maltez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Mao Zhen Hong made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Alcino Jesus sent off a good shot on target. In the 25th minute of the match Academia Monte Gordo got a corner. Ponte do Carro's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Rodrigo Mafra ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Rodrigo Mafra almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ponte do Carro's Armindo Maltez did a great save. The supporters of Ponte do Carro booed when Academia Monte Gordo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adolfo Silva didn't get a good kick on the ball. Armindo Maltez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabrício Lustosa, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Mao Zhen Hong took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Loukianos Livas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Loukianos Livas to make the kick off. Thanks to some nice moves Fabrício Lustosa could shoot a difficult shot in the 53rd minute, which Armindo Maltez however easily saved by the left post. Ponte do Carro's Armindo Maltez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save Ponte do Carro from getting a goal against them. In the 56th minute Alcino Jesus shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mao Zhen Hong saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mao Zhen Hong came out of the goal in the 56th minute to try and stop a shot by Ponte do Carro's Alcino Jesus. But to his dismay, Alcino Jesus quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. Mao Zhen Hong showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gregório Jesus, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Ponte do Carro's Armindo Maltez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save Ponte do Carro from getting a goal against them. When Ponte do Carro's Simão Boaventura in the 70th minute got a chance for a shot 70th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Academia Monte Gordo would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
