André Figueiredo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Geovânio Proença, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Magno Aparecido in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Serafim Eanes saved Sporting DoutroMundo from getting behind. Gabriel Junqueira's late challenge caught a Minho FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. In the 18th minute, Magno Aparecido got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sporting DoutroMundo's Serafim Eanes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ivo Mourato in the 21st minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Yu Ran Zhen got free with Serafim Eanes in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 41 minutes, Magno Aparecido managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Minho FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Magno Aparecido was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geovânio Proença in the 46th minute of play forced Minho FC's goalkeeper André Figueiredo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Durval Fantini made a kick off. The audience was convinced that Magno Aparecido's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Serafim Eanes was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. 58 minutes into the match, Sporting DoutroMundo's goal looked a bit too open when Magno Aparecido came free, but Serafim Eanes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 65th minute Magno Aparecido shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Serafim Eanes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Sporting DoutroMundo's Eduardo Fontoura got a free kick in the 67th minute. Minho FC's Timóteo Camargo was substituted for Salah el Din Khan. Sporting DoutroMundo's supporters rose to their feet, but Geovânio Proença was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. André Figueiredo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Eduardo Fontoura kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. In the 94th minute, Hélder Soveral got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sporting DoutroMundo's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
