The long shot by Damião Maia in the 3rd minute really tested Edwin van der Sar's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. After a rather tough play, Pinhote FC's Gualter Távora got a free kick in the 6th minute. Imre Hellinger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Edwin van der Sar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 19 minutes União Sport Clube Paredes's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Damião Maia who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Damião Maia got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Edwin van der Sar quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 22 minutes into the game, União Sport Clube Paredes's Alexandre Santana nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ni Guang Yong made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After having played for 25 minutes, Miguel Rodríguez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pinhote FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Miguel Rodríguez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jerónimo Furtado in the 27th minute of play forced Pinhote FC's goalkeeper Ni Guang Yong to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pinhote FC's Ni Guang Yong played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roman Quilo in the 28th minute of play. A collision led to União Sport Clube Paredes getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Horia Taşcu hit a great ball. Damião Maia made a great header on Pinhote FC's corner, it was just that União Sport Clube Paredes's Edwin van der Sar managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 38th minute, Alexandre Santana left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The União Sport Clube Paredes fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Edwin van der Sar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Rodríguez in the 42nd minute of play. In the 43rd minute, Dabi Saens made a precise shot to the right of Ni Guang Yong. Pinhote FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. 46 minutes into the match, União Sport Clube Paredes's Roman Quilo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ni Guang Yong narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 47 minutes into the match, Jerónimo Furtado notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of Pinhote FC's Ni Guang Yong. Ni Guang Yong was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jerónimo Furtado made a kick off. União Sport Clube Paredes's Edwin van der Sar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sílvio Luís Ceresso in the 54th minute of play. In the 55th match minute, Pinhote FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kang Ning Yu to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Pinhote FC defense, Dabi Saens kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ni Guang Yong. The Pinhote FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ni Guang Yong should have stopped the shot. Edwin van der Sar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Waldemar Rosen in the 60th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roman Quilo in the 62nd minute of play forced Pinhote FC's goalkeeper Ni Guang Yong to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edwin van der Sar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Miguel Rodríguez, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. In the 67th minute Dabi Saens shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ni Guang Yong saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 68th minute, União Sport Clube Paredes's Dabi Saens ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ni Guang Yong. Ni Guang Yong yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-6. With a little luck, Pinhote FC's Ni Guang Yong got control of the ball when Alexandre Santana tried to sneak it across the goal line. Edwin van der Sar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Waldemar Rosen in the 79th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dabi Saens in the 83rd minute of play forced Pinhote FC's goalkeeper Ni Guang Yong to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 87 minutes of play, União Sport Clube Paredes's Jerónimo Furtado made it 0-7 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ni Guang Yong was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the last second Ni Guang Yong throw himself and got hold of the ball when Jerónimo Furtado in the 90thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Edwin van der Sar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Miguel Rodríguez, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Through an outstanding action, after 96 minutes, Ni Guang Yong successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Sílvio Luís Ceresso hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. União Sport Clube Paredes played a much better game than Pinhote FC and deserved their victory. The Pinhote FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
