The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Cai Yuan Yuan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 7 minutes into the match, Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s goal looked a bit too open when Cai Yuan Yuan came free, but Qiu Chuan Ran reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Raimundo Ventura came free with the goalkeeper in the 9th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Pankracy Zajonc could save by the left post. After having played for 11 minutes, Aras Görkem Kaymaz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. MZ Fénix's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aras Görkem Kaymaz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pankracy Zajonc showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gonzalo Lixandro, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cai Yuan Yuan in the 17th minute of play forced Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s goalkeeper Qiu Chuan Ran to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raimundo Ventura in the 21st minute of play forced MZ Fénix's goalkeeper Pankracy Zajonc to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pankracy Zajonc showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rodolfo Faria in the 24th minute of the match. Raimundo Ventura in the 25thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Pankracy Zajonc, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 26 minutes into the match, MZ Fénix's goal looked a bit too open when Gonzalo Lixandro came free, but Pankracy Zajonc reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A nice corner shot did that Aras Görkem Kaymaz got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Qiu Chuan Ran quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 47 minutes into the match, Cai Yuan Yuan notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s Qiu Chuan Ran. Qiu Chuan Ran was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cai Yuan Yuan was the one to do the kick off. Qiu Chuan Ran took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cai Yuan Yuan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s Raimundo Ventura got a free kick in the 54th minute. In the 58th minute Rodolfo Faria shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pankracy Zajonc saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vladimiro Granja sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Cai Yuan Yuan managed to get in a good position for a shot. MZ Fénix's supporters rose to their feet, but Cai Yuan Yuan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Qiu Chuan Ran breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vygantas Petrošius received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Qiu Chuan Ran tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. MZ Fénix's Pankracy Zajonc played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rodolfo Faria in the 71st minute of play. After 73 played minutes MZ Fénix got a freekick which was hit by Ermegildo Izaguirre. In the 85th minute of the match, Cai Yuan Yuan tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Qiu Chuan Ran saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Cai Yuan Yuan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Qiu Chuan Ran read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 88th minute of play. A collision led to Sporting Clube V.R.S.A. getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Witold Piszczor hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s zone, Aras Görkem Kaymaz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Qiu Chuan Ran came out of the goal and Aras Görkem Kaymaz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The MZ Fénix supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing MZ Fénix would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
