DENVER™'s Nico Furlan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nestor Paraibano in the 11th minute of play. In the 14th match minute, Marquês de Herval was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nestor Paraibano to maneuver through the defense. Dida Taffarel made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Washington Lira sent off a good shot on target. Nico Furlan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from German Cano in the 21st minute of the match. William Magalhães fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dida Taffarel having to interfere. After 27 played minutes DENVER™ got a freekick which was hit by Eric Burdon. 29 minutes into the game, Nestor Paraibano cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Nico Furlan was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, DENVER™'s Dráusio Garcia got a free kick in the 33rd minute. 34 minutes into the match, DENVER™'s goal looked a bit too open when German Cano came free, but Nico Furlan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nico Furlan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nestor Paraibano in the 35th minute of play. Alfredo Martins fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nico Furlan having to interfere. 44 minutes into the game, Marquês de Herval's Nestor Paraibano nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nico Furlan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Washington Lira made a kick off. With a little luck, DENVER™'s Nico Furlan got control of the ball when Nestor Paraibano tried to sneak it across the goal line. Washington Lira hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. DENVER™'s Nico Furlan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to save DENVER™ from getting a goal against them. Dida Taffarel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Washington Lira in the 69th minute of the match. 73 minutes into the match, DENVER™'s goalkeeper Nico Furlan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by German Cano. 74 minutes into the game, one of Marquês de Herval:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Marquês de Herval:s Dida Taffarel showed great skill when he stopped Dráusio Garcia:s penalty. Dráusio Garcia took the ball and in the 75 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dida Taffarel. Dida Taffarel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. DENVER™ made a substitution. Délio Campidelis replaced Washington Lira. Marquês de Herval's Acácio Cunha was substituted for Valentin Vizitiu. A collision led to DENVER™ getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Joel Lima hit a great ball. Nestor Paraibano came free with the goalkeeper in the 84th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Nico Furlan could save by the left post. In the 87th minute Délio Campidelis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dida Taffarel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nico Furlan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nestor Paraibano in the 89th minute. Alfredo Martins blasted a shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nico Furlan having to make a save. Dida Taffarel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Délio Campidelis in the 94th minute of the match. 97 minutes into the match, DENVER™'s goal looked a bit too open when German Cano came free, but Nico Furlan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marquês de Herval played a much better game than DENVER™ and deserved their victory. The DENVER™ players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
