Hamílton Chaves came out of the goal and Dráusio de Queirós tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Tomé Corrêa fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ligeiro F.C's protests and gave Tomé Corrêa a yellow card for diving instead. Hamílton Chaves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mané Garrinchinha in the 20th minute of the match. In the 20th minute, Mané Garrinchinha ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hamílton Chaves was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. With a left leg Hamílton Chaves saved Ligeiro F.C from getting behind. 47 minutes into the match, Ligeiro F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Mané Garrinchinha came free, but Hamílton Chaves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Frank Tasso made a kick off. Dráusio de Queirós received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Hamílton Chaves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Academia Santista CIMZ's Mané Garrinchinha got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hamílton Chaves made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mané Garrinchinha in the 57th minute. Mané Garrinchinha recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Academia Santista CIMZ's Téo Loyola shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 82nd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Hamílton Chaves but with some difficulty. Hamílton Chaves made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Mané Garrinchinha sent off a good shot on target. After 86 played minutes Ligeiro F.C got a freekick which was hit by Bernardo Amorim. Hamílton Chaves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mané Garrinchinha in the 88th minute of play. Academia Santista CIMZ's Mané Garrinchinha got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match was over Academia Santista CIMZ could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Ligeiro F.C throughout the match.
