The corner ended in Noel Neves almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Marquês de Herval's Dida Taffarel did a great save. Alfredo Martins received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Eugênio Recife tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marcelinho Hermes received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Dida Taffarel came out and tried to block the shot, but Marcelinho Hermes slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 27th minute. Eugênio Recife showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfredo Martins in the 29th minute of the match. 32 minutes into the match, Marquês de Herval's goalkeeper Dida Taffarel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marcelinho Hermes. A collision led to Marquês de Herval getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Alfredo Martins hit a great ball. A sloppy throw-in by Valentin Vizitiu in the 41st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Milan da Freguesia F.C.'s Ricardo Marquez. After 45 played minutes Marquês de Herval got a freekick which was hit by Valentin Vizitiu. Dida Taffarel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcelinho Hermes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Milan da Freguesia F.C.'s Eugênio Recife played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfredo Martins in the 47th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marcelinho Hermes was the one to do the kick off. Nestor Paraibano in the 54thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Eugênio Recife, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Alfredo Martins received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Eugênio Recife came out and tried to block the shot, but Alfredo Martins slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 58th minute. 64 minutes into the match, Marquês de Herval's goal looked a bit too open when Lin Xiang Yang came free, but Dida Taffarel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eugênio Recife came out of the goal in the 68th minute to try and stop a shot by Marquês de Herval's German Cano. But to his dismay, German Cano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Milan da Freguesia F.C.'s Raimundo Bueno was substituted for Romário Quadros. Marquês de Herval's Acácio Cunha was substituted for Valentin Vizitiu. Marquês de Herval's Jair Bostan was substituted for Selami Rezan. The corner ended in Alfredo Martins almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Milan da Freguesia F.C.'s Eugênio Recife did a great save. 80 minutes into the game, Nestor Paraibano cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Eugênio Recife was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Eugênio Recife made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nestor Paraibano in the 85th minute. Milan da Freguesia F.C.'s Eugênio Recife played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by German Cano in the 87th minute of play. Eugênio Recife showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfredo Martins, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Dida Taffarel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raimundo Bueno in the 93rd minute of the match. After 94 minutes of play, Marquês de Herval's Nestor Paraibano made it 1-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Eugênio Recife was left in no man's land by his defense there! The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Marquês de Herval walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
