In the 12th minute of the match, Ted Almstedt tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Célio Varela saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The audience was convinced that Ted Almstedt's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Célio Varela was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. Célio Varela stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ted Almstedt's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. Alessandro Meirelles's late challenge caught a Runa United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alessandro Meirelles helped the player get up and apologised. Ted Almstedt took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Célio Varela. Célio Varela dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. When the match had gone on for 30 minutes, Valentin Rydberg took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Célio Varela to make any attempt to save it. In the 33rd minute, Runa United's Ted Almstedt dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 4-0. Célio Varela made an important save on a dangerous shot by Frank Brogren in the 43rd minute. 44 minutes into the game, Eriberto Recife was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. BOA VISTA E.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Runa United the free kick. In the 44th match minute, BOA VISTA E.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eriberto Recife to maneuver through the defense. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 5-0 at half-time.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ted Almstedt made a kick off. Ismael Novaes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nils-Erik Åhlberg having to make a save. 56 minutes into the match, BOA VISTA E.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Ted Almstedt came free, but Célio Varela reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arlindo Vander could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Nils-Erik Åhlberg made a huge save. If Ted Almstedt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Célio Varela showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ted Almstedt, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. When the match had gone on for 68 minutes, Ted Almstedt put it in 6-0 from a short distance just to the right of Célio Varela. BOA VISTA E.C.'s Célio Varela played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ted Almstedt in the 73rd minute of play. Valentin Rydberg struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Célio Varela didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Runa United. BOA VISTA E.C.'s Célio Varela played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ted Almstedt in the 78th minute of play. Nils-Erik Åhlberg made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ismael Novaes in the 84th minute. In the 90th minute of the match Runa United got a corner. BOA VISTA E.C.'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Bo Eriksson ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Runa United's corner Frank Brogren fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Célio Varela quite easily take care of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Claudinho Cearense managed to get in a good position for a shot. BOA VISTA E.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Claudinho Cearense was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nils-Erik Åhlberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. For all the effort they put into the match, the BOA VISTA E.C. players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Runa United.
