Genílson Pontes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Christian Claus in the 4th minute of play. Dorian Fernandez charged in rather forcefully in the 5th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dorian Fernandez the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Avelinos's Iuri Bittencourt was substituted for Leonel Vergílio. After a rather tough play, Avelinos's Dorian Fernandez got a free kick in the 5th minute. With a little luck, Avelinos's Genílson Pontes got control of the ball when Raimundo Modestio tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 21st minute, Maicon Breckenfeld made a precise shot to the right of Honorato Odilon. Goldney's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Maicon Breckenfeld in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Honorato Odilon prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Luisão Linhares recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luisão Linhares took the ball and in the 31 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Honorato Odilon. Honorato Odilon dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. After 36 minutes, Reynaldo Camerino mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Goldney and the Avelinos players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 36 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Goldney! The referee gave Avelinos a penalty, 38 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Luisão Linhares, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Goldney's Honorato Odilon. 0-3. Genílson Pontes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Christian Claus in the 41st minute of play. Avelinos's Genílson Pontes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Arixo in the 44th minute of play. In the 45th minute, Luan Bezerra hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Goldney's zone, Iuri Bittencourt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Honorato Odilon came out of the goal and Iuri Bittencourt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half Avelinos were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
After some careless play in the Avelinos defense, Justo Ovando kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Genílson Pontes. The Avelinos fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Genílson Pontes should have stopped the shot. Genílson Pontes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Justo Ovando in the 56th minute of the match. In the 57th minute, Cristian Arixo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Goldney fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. Luisão Linhares was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 61st minute. Avelinos's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. 62 minutes into the match, Avelinos's Maicon Breckenfeld sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Honorato Odilon narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 64th minute Justo Ovando shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Genílson Pontes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Honorato Odilon didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Maicon Breckenfeld went, in the 69th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-4 was the resulting score. Maicon Breckenfeld's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Honorato Odilon read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. In the 76th minute Raimundo Modestio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Genílson Pontes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luisão Linhares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Honorato Odilon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Avelinos's Dorian Fernandez suffered a concussion in the 80th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. Justo Ovando's late challenge caught a Avelinos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Justo Ovando helped the player get up and apologised. Avelinos's Caco Simões was substituted for Dorian Fernandez. After a rather tough play, Goldney's Justo Ovando got a free kick in the 81st minute. Bernabe Aballe was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 83 minutes into the match. Genílson Pontes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raimundo Modestio in the 87th minute of play. Raimundo Modestio kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. 92 minutes into the match, Goldney's goal looked a bit too open when Luisão Linhares came free, but Honorato Odilon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Honorato Odilon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maicon Breckenfeld in the 94th minute of the match. In the 95th minute Maicon Breckenfeld shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Honorato Odilon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Iuri Bittencourt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Honorato Odilon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Avelinos walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
