The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 6 played minutes Clube Atlético Luziense got a freekick which was hit by Celso de Amaral. Jairo Fonseca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Naldo Cabral, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. After 16 played minutes Clube Atlético Luziense got a freekick which was hit by Bernardinho Dante. After having played for 18 minutes, Naldo Cabral managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. BOA VISTA E.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Naldo Cabral was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luciano Rodrigues sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jairo Fonseca showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manoel Teixeira in the 29th minute of the match. In the 32nd minute Tony Abraão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jairo Fonseca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zeca do Valle was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 39 minutes into the match. Zeca do Valle kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Clube Atlético Luziense's Flavinho Luz couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 41st minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for BOA VISTA E.C.. Jairo Fonseca showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manoel Teixeira in the 45th minute of the match. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Luciano Rodrigues to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Gerson Furlan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé Faria saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luciano Rodrigues in the 54th minute of play forced BOA VISTA E.C.'s goalkeeper Zé Faria to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jairo Fonseca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guto Neto, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. If Geraldo de Sena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jairo Fonseca came out of the goal in the 62nd minute to try and stop a shot by BOA VISTA E.C.'s Manoel Teixeira. But to his dismay, Manoel Teixeira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After having played for 65 minutes, Victor Gomes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. BOA VISTA E.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Victor Gomes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, BOA VISTA E.C.'s Geovani das Neves got a free kick in the 66th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Gerson Furlan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Clube Atlético Luziense's supporters rose to their feet, but Gerson Furlan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zé Faria breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 69 minutes into the game, Clube Atlético Luziense's Luciano Rodrigues nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Zé Faria made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. 73 minutes into the match, BOA VISTA E.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Urbano came free, but Zé Faria reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luciano Rodrigues might have been able to make a better finish in the 76th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Zé Faria. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luciano Rodrigues ran back to his position shaking his head. Zé Faria showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Urbano, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. The supporters of Clube Atlético Luziense booed when BOA VISTA E.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eurico Velasco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Guto Neto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 93 played minutes BOA VISTA E.C. got a freekick which was hit by Eurico Velasco. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Luciano Rodrigues managed to get in a good position for a shot. Clube Atlético Luziense's supporters rose to their feet, but Luciano Rodrigues was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
