Gilmar Maranhense hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. When the match had gone on for 7 minutes, German Cano put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Ferit Boğatekin. Rahmad Lunggana's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dida Taffarel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. 22 minutes had been played when some careless play by AS Maraschin Calcio CIMZ's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Pedro Luís da Rocha was slow to take the kick. During this time Marquês de Herval's players had a chance to rest. Marquês de Herval's Pedro Luís da Rocha was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Ferit Boğatekin in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rahmad Lunggana in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dida Taffarel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. AS Maraschin Calcio CIMZ's Ferit Boğatekin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by German Cano in the 25th minute of play. Rahmad Lunggana recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ferit Boğatekin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfredo Martins, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The wind increased when Rahmad Lunggana made the kick off in the second half. Ferit Boğatekin made an important save on a dangerous shot by German Cano in the 51st minute. Ferit Boğatekin was a little too slow when Alfredo Martins got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 52nd minute. The score was now 0-2. Ferit Boğatekin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfredo Martins, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nestor Paraibano took the ball and in the 61 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ferit Boğatekin. Ferit Boğatekin dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Ferit Boğatekin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from German Cano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 72nd minute Alfredo Martins shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ferit Boğatekin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Marquês de Herval's zone, Rahmad Lunggana stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dida Taffarel came out of the goal and Rahmad Lunggana tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 78th minute the ball was on its way in behind AS Maraschin Calcio CIMZ's goalkeeper Ferit Boğatekin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to AS Maraschin Calcio CIMZ getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Rahmad Lunggana hit a great ball. Rahmad Lunggana kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nestor Paraibano got free with Ferit Boğatekin in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ferit Boğatekin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nestor Paraibano in the 86th minute. Acácio Cunha made in the 89th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by AS Maraschin Calcio CIMZ's Eduardo Paes. After having played for 90 minutes, Rahmad Lunggana managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AS Maraschin Calcio CIMZ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rahmad Lunggana was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Marquês de Herval eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
