Meng Yu Hui showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zhang Chen Chuan in the 9th minute of the match. If João Carlos Mesquita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 16th minute João Carlos Mesquita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl-Axel Jansson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Academia Santista CIMZ's Dráusio de Queirós got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If João Carlos Mesquita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Karl-Axel Jansson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Carlos Mesquita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa's Meng Yu Hui played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilian Pirani in the 28th minute of play. Meng Yu Hui showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wilian Pirani, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Meng Yu Hui made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wilian Pirani in the 33rd minute of play. Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa's Meng Yu Hui played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilian Pirani in the 34th minute of play. The supporters of Academia Santista CIMZ booed when Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Otávio Freitas didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Thibault Delanoë had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wilian Pirani in the 46th minute of play forced Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa's goalkeeper Meng Yu Hui to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Karl-Axel Jansson made an important save on a dangerous shot by João Carlos Mesquita in the 55th minute. The nice shot from João Carlos Mesquita in the 57thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Karl-Axel Jansson had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa's João Carlos Mesquita got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thibault Delanoë was extremely unlucky when he, in the 68th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. João Carlos Mesquita might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Karl-Axel Jansson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. João Carlos Mesquita ran back to his position shaking his head. João Carlos Mesquita blasted a shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Karl-Axel Jansson having to make a save. João Carlos Mesquita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Karl-Axel Jansson made a huge save. Academia Santista CIMZ's Karl-Axel Jansson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save Academia Santista CIMZ from getting a goal against them. João Carlos Mesquita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Karl-Axel Jansson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 87th minute Mané Garrinchinha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Meng Yu Hui saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Karl-Axel Jansson was a little too slow when João Carlos Mesquita got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 90th minute. The score was now 1-2.
