With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alfredo Martins in the 3rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lara Peñaranda saved Beneficiente from getting behind. 4 minutes had been played when some careless play by Beneficiente's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Pedro Luís da Rocha was slow to take the kick. During this time Marquês de Herval's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Marquês de Herval's corner Pedro Luís da Rocha fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Lara Peñaranda quite easily take care of the ball. After 6 played minutes Marquês de Herval got a freekick which was hit by Nestor Paraibano. Marquês de Herval's Lorenzo Mendebal pulled a muscle in his leg after 7 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 7 minutes, Antônio Souto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Beneficiente and the Marquês de Herval players grew even worse after the yellow card. Marquês de Herval's Acácio Cunha was substituted for Lorenzo Mendebal. After a rather tough play, Beneficiente's Antônio Souto got a free kick in the 8th minute. Lara Peñaranda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from German Cano in the 9th minute of play. Lara Peñaranda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfredo Martins in the 13th minute of the match. 14 minutes had been played when some careless play by Beneficiente's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Pedro Luís da Rocha was slow to take the kick. During this time Marquês de Herval's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Marquês de Herval's Moussa Kabre to fire away a dangerous shot which Lara Peñaranda despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Lara Peñaranda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfredo Martins in the 17th minute of the match. In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind Beneficiente's goalkeeper Lara Peñaranda, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Alfredo Martins struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Lara Peñaranda didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Marquês de Herval. 23 minutes into the match, Beneficiente's goal looked a bit too open when Nestor Paraibano came free, but Lara Peñaranda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 25thth minute of the game Alfredo Martins who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Beneficiente's Lara Peñaranda was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Lara Peñaranda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfredo Martins in the 29th minute of play. 32 minutes into the game, Marquês de Herval's German Cano nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lara Peñaranda made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Alfredo Martins fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lara Peñaranda having to interfere. 38 minutes into the match, Alfredo Martins notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Beneficiente's Lara Peñaranda. Lara Peñaranda was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 41 minutes into the match, Marquês de Herval's Alfredo Martins sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lara Peñaranda narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Lara Peñaranda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfredo Martins in the 43rd minute of the match. Dida Taffarel made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Edgar Appel sent off a good shot on target.

In the 51st match minute, Marquês de Herval was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gaston Gonzalez to maneuver through the defense. Lara Peñaranda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfredo Martins in the 57th minute of the match. Nestor Paraibano received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Lara Peñaranda came out and tried to block the shot, but Nestor Paraibano slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 58th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 61 minutes, Lara Peñaranda successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. When Zé Pedro Viana fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Beneficiente's protests and gave Zé Pedro Viana a yellow card for diving instead. After 64 played minutes Beneficiente got a freekick which was hit by Zé Pedro Viana. Nestor Paraibano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 67th minute of the match, Alfredo Martins tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Lara Peñaranda saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Through an outstanding action, after 67 minutes, Lara Peñaranda successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. German Cano blasted a shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lara Peñaranda having to make a save. In the 70th match minute, Marquês de Herval was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nestor Paraibano to maneuver through the defense. After 73 played minutes Beneficiente got a freekick which was hit by Cesinha Aparecido. Alfredo Martins blasted a shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lara Peñaranda having to make a save. When Marquês de Herval's Alfredo Martins in the 76th minute got a chance for a shot 76th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Beneficiente's goalie prevented a goal. When the match had gone on for 78 minutes, Alfredo Martins took a quick shot and it went in 0-4 without a chance for Lara Peñaranda to make any attempt to save it. Marquês de Herval made a substitution. Jair Bostan replaced Selami Rezan. The crowd rose to their feet as Marquês de Herval's Nestor Paraibano slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Lara Peñaranda. That made the score 0-5 after 82 minutes of play. 86 minutes into the game, Alfredo Martins recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Lara Peñaranda. Alfredo Martins showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-6. Alfredo Martins sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 94th minute, Zézinho Paulista hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Zézinho Paulista hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. The Marquês de Herval supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Marquês de Herval would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
