Beneficiente's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Nova Era the free kick. Beneficiente's Romário Seco was substituted for Edgar Appel. In the 93rd match minute, Beneficiente was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antônio Souto to maneuver through the defense. Vito Freire sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 95th minute, Egídio Vaz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Nova Era fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. The Beneficiente manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Nova Era to win.
