In the 7th minute of the match Niilo Mikkola sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lara Peñaranda skillfully saved the ball. 9 minutes into the match, Niilo Mikkola had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lara Peñaranda. Beneficiente's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Niilo Mikkola was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Lara Peñaranda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Niilo Mikkola, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Beneficiente's Lara Peñaranda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leif Törnqvist in the 13th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Niilo Mikkola in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lara Peñaranda saved Beneficiente from getting behind. Dinei Pinheiro made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Edgar Appel sent off a good shot on target. 17 minutes into the match, SeleSantos FC's goalkeeper Dinei Pinheiro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zézinho Paulista. Lara Peñaranda didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jacobo Casado went, in the 20th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Niilo Mikkola in the 23rd minute of play forced Beneficiente's goalkeeper Lara Peñaranda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Niilo Mikkola received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Lara Peñaranda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lara Peñaranda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jacobo Casado in the 31st minute of play. A hard shot 37 in the game by Edgar Appel from a close distance when the talented Dinei Pinheiro managed to make a qualified save. SeleSantos FC's players were relieved. Dinei Pinheiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgar Appel, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Antônio Souto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dinei Pinheiro having to interfere. Beneficiente's Lara Peñaranda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Niilo Mikkola in the 43rd minute of play. 47 minutes into the game, Joélson Pitta was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Beneficiente's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SeleSantos FC the free kick. Joélson Pitta kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. Beneficiente's Lara Peñaranda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Niilo Mikkola in the 48th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Leif Törnqvist charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Leif Törnqvist the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Leif Törnqvist hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. In the 58th minute, Niilo Mikkola ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lara Peñaranda was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. Vânderson de Moraes kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Beneficiente's Antônio Souto got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dinei Pinheiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgar Appel in the 72nd minute of play. SeleSantos FC's Dinei Pinheiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilian Santos in the 76th minute of play. The supporters of SeleSantos FC booed when Beneficiente was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edgar Appel didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 79th minute, Leif Törnqvist hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. SeleSantos FC's Dinei Pinheiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antônio Souto in the 83rd minute of play. In the 85th play minute Jacobo Casado came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Lara Peñaranda. 0-6. Dinei Pinheiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgar Appel, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. SeleSantos FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
