The Jung 1972 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cristian Gomes should have stopped the shot. Cristian Gomes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilberto Cardozo in the 81st minute of play. If Amedeo Faccio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 85 minutes into the match, Jung 1972's goal looked a bit too open when Meriç Nurkan came free, but Cristian Gomes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 95th minute Meriç Nurkan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristian Gomes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
