When Gil Leal fell near the penalty area in the 5th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC St. Pauli's protests and gave Gil Leal a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Motta Futebol Clube booed when FC St. Pauli was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gil Leal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Guilherme Mendonça stood somewhat misplaced when Artur Sabóia came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 6 minute. FC St. Pauli's Guilherme Mendonça proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save FC St. Pauli from getting a goal against them. Motta Futebol Clube were awarded a corner in the 15th minute after FC St. Pauli's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Dudu Hermes took the corner. The corner led Motta Futebol Clube's Artur Sabóia to fire away a dangerous shot which Guilherme Mendonça despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Aírton de Lima made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dário Schmidt in the 19th minute of play. With his leg Guilherme Mendonça managed to avoid a goal in the 24thth minute, when Motta Futebol Clube's Lu Ladron fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Lu Ladron had several of the FC St. Pauli's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 24 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-0 score and a disappointed Guilherme Mendonça as he didn't even see the shot coming. Pedro Luiz Trevisan hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. 36 minutes into the game, Artur Sabóia cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Guilherme Mendonça was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The crowd rose to their feet as Artur Sabóia kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Guilherme Mendonça. That made the score 5-0 in the 39 minute of play. 41 minutes into the game, Gilmar Zonta was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC St. Pauli's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Motta Futebol Clube the free kick. A collision led to FC St. Pauli getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Gilmar Zonta hit a great ball. Guilherme Mendonça was a little too slow when Válbson de Alcântara got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 44th minute. The score was now 6-0. 47 minutes into the match, Lu Ladron dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Guilherme Mendonça, 7-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 7-0.

The wind increased when Válbson de Alcântara made the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Artur Sabóia made a precise shot to the right of Guilherme Mendonça. FC St. Pauli's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 8-0. Guilherme Mendonça took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Válbson de Alcântara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. FC St. Pauli's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Válbson de Alcântara was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 9-0. In the 74th minute, FC St. Pauli's Gil Leal seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Gil Leal the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of FC St. Pauli protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Gil Leal had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Guilherme Mendonça didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Válbson de Alcântara went, in the 79th minute, to the upper right corner, 10-0 was the resulting score. Dário Schmidt hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. In the 82nd minute, Jacinto Munhoz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. FC St. Pauli's Guilherme Mendonça played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Válbson de Alcântara in the 87th minute of play. Guilherme Mendonça showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Artur Sabóia in the 89th minute of the match. 91 minutes into the match, FC St. Pauli's goal looked a bit too open when Válbson de Alcântara came free, but Guilherme Mendonça reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 92nd minute Artur Sabóia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guilherme Mendonça saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Guilherme Mendonça came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by Motta Futebol Clube's Válbson de Alcântara. But to his dismay, Válbson de Alcântara quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 11-0. Guilherme Mendonça made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Armandinho Carvalho in the 97th minute of play. Motta Futebol Clube's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
